Massive lint blockage inside the blower wheel housing or wall duct. I measure the CFM airflow. I'll physically extract the lint blocks inside the machine and test the element cycling.

The heavy-duty belt that turns the drum finally snapped. I open the top, thread a new multi-ribbed OEM belt around the drum, and lock it into the motor tensioner.

A blown main thermal fuse, or a broken door switch plunger. I check the door switch with a meter. If it's fine, I trace the motor circuit to find the blown safety fuse.

The thermostat fused shut, or the heating element grounded itself to the metal casing. I check if the element stays on when the machine is off. If so, it's grounded and I replace the entire heater box immediately.

The motor bearings are failing, causing it to overheat and trip the internal thermal switch. If it starts again after cooling down for 30 minutes, the motor is dying. I swap the complete 120V drive motor.

Lint has bypassed the trap and is sitting directly on the 240V heating coils. This is a fire hazard. I pull the heater box, clear all scorched debris, and check the wall plug for melted wires.

The tiny plastic door strike has worn down from years of tumbling clothes hitting it. I pry out the old clips and snap in new, high-tension OEM catches so the door stays firmly shut.

The felt or Teflon pads holding up the front of the drum have worn completely away. I lift the drum out and rivet or glue new glide pads onto the front bulkhead to stop the scraping.
